I recently attended a church activity where we had a great lesson about Jesus Christ. The question was asked, "What are you thoughts about the Savior?" I sometimes have a hard time articulating my thoughts (just ask my husband), so I didn't respond that night. It has been on my mind since then though.
I decided to ask my kids the same question. I was surprised by my son Mako's response. Mako was a kindergartener last year, and it was a really weird year to start school. He never complained about anything, but when I'd talk to his teacher she would tell me that he always played by himself. I didn't think he minded, until I read what he wrote, "He (Jesus) helped me to not feel lonely." My heart broke a little bit, but at the same time, I was so grateful for my Savior who was able to comfort Mako and help him to not feel lonely. I hope he keeps his faith and has Christ by his side throughout his life.
So, what are my thoughts on Christ? I'm so grateful that He will comfort and be with my children when I can't. I'm so grateful for the guidance, love, and forgiveness that He's given me. I'm grateful for His perfect example of loving and serving those around us no matter our differences, and His teachings of how to live a life with meaning and purpose. And, I'm grateful that Christ gave His life for me, so that I can repent and try to do better each day.
I was asked to play a song about Jesus Christ on the piano recently, so I arranged a duet with three of my favorite songs. They also help me express my feelings toward Christ. My son Keido was kind enough to play it with me. I put it to some pictures for this little video.
I hope that you can take a minute today and think about the question, "What are my thoughts about Christ?"
