The year 2020 was an interesting one for everyone. At the beginning of the pandemic, my mother found out that she had brain cancer. As we were all processing the news, my father said, "We're in God's hands now, and there's no where else I'd rather be." I was so impressed by my father's faith, and tried to imagine what he was feeling. This song is a tribute to his words and what he's gone through. It is now ten months later and my mother is thankfully doing amazing. She has beaten the odds and presses forward everyday.

I was asked to write a song for a funeral for a baby who wasn't supposed to live more than a couple days after birth. I wrote this song as a mother's way to sing her baby up to heaven. Fortunately, it never had to be sung at a funeral and is now a favorite nighttime lullaby in our home.

My mother, who was diagnosed with brain cancer once apologized to me for not wearing a hat and letting her scar show. I couldn't bear the thought of her thinking she could be anything but the most beautiful woman in the world in every way. This song is about how she is and has been beautiful in every phase of her life.

My Promise |

Baptism is a way for someone to show their promise to God to live the best they can, striving to do as Jesus Christ would. I wrote "My Promise" for my daughter who has chosen to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Goodbye is a song that I wrote in memory of my grandmother. She was an amazing woman! I convinced my ever so talented sister to play the bagpipes with me.

Find HimVocals by Elizabeth Brown

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the lights, music, gifts, and traditions that go with it. However, I often feel that the true meaning of the holiday often gets lost in the hustle and bustle. I wrote "Find Him" to help us remember the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Christ is here, hoping that we will find Him. We can see Him in the kind deeds and service that the holiday is truly all about.

This is a Christmas song meant for an SATB choir. This version was sung by two individuals who sang two parts each. The verses are about three different perspectives on Christ's birth: the prophets, God the Father, and the virgin Mary.

In a world full of so much political tension, it's important for us to remember what our country was founded upon. We can remember those who have gone before, and strive to do our own part in making our country great.

What better way to celebrate Father's Day than to have your kids sing a song for their dad. This one was for my husband, but could apply to any great father.

Easter
LazarusVocals by Jennifer and Elizabeth Brown

As Easter came around, I wanted to write a song about how Christ conquered death, allowing us to also live again. I love the story of Lazarus and the emotions there. During the writing process, I found out my mom had brain cancer. The words took on a whole new meaning for me as I contemplated my faith in Christ and what his sacrifice really meant.
